ROCK RIDGE MUSIC HEADS INTO 2012 WITH WIDE-RANGING SUCCESSES

Newark, NJ-based music services company Rock Ridge Music is rolling into 2012 with growth on many fronts. The company was founded in 2004 as a US record label only, and has since expanded their business to offer artists a record label with national/international distribution through ADA (WMG), artist management, special events, and a wide range of consulting services. The company attracts artists looking to develop within the growing independent music sector.

Rock Ridge Music’s label division is heating up at Hot AC radio with the buoyant Rachel Platten and her single “1000 Ships,” which this week has hit the Billboard Pop Singles chart at #39, #37 BDS Adult Top 40, and #39 Mediabase Hot AC. “1000 Ships” is the highest-charting fully independent single at the format. The single is receiving airplay at KDMX/Dallas, WIAD/Washington DC, Sirius/XM “The Pulse”, WOMX/Orlando, and more. “1000 Ships” is the first single from Platten’s debut full-length, “Be Here,” out on April 26, 2011.

Humorcore rock group Psychostick is touring with industrial metal band Mushroomhead through early November. The quartet released their latest musical outing, Space Vampires Vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D, on August 16, 2011. Lead single “Boobs,” will be hitting video outlets soon; the video was shot in Orlando, FL, with the help of radio station WJRR-FM. Many hard rock and metal fans know the band for their 2007 song “Beer!” – a cult hit that grabbed a coveted spot as the No. 1 single on XM Radio's Liquid Metal show for seven weeks.

Rock Ridge Music continues its commitment to developing label clients with several new releases. The Explorers Club (a band hailing from Charleston, SC) will be releasing its sophomore set, “Grand Hotel,” in early spring 2012, with Mark Linett (who just finished the mix on Beach Boys’ “SMiLE” for Capitol Records) mixing the release. Also look for new music in 2012 from recently signed management clients The Cringe, Riley Etheridge Jr., and Todd Carey, as well as roster staple Ingram Hill.

Rock Ridge Music is also active overseas, with Northern Ireland-based trio Relish having just released their latest album, “Connected,” in Ireland and the U.K. (with the help of ADA Global) in September. Relish, who hail from County Down, North Ireland, have sold platinum albums, won prestigious music awards, written global hits, graced some of the world's most famous stages and have fans among the likes of Paul Weller, Brian May, and U2.

Rock Ridge Music is expanding its successful Hotel Carolina line of events with a second event scheduled to take place in Philadelphia on January 27 and 28, 2012. Philly institution Geno’s Steaks has been locked in as a sponsor for the inaugural January event. Like the original South Carolina event, the Philadelphia event will feature the best in touring singer-songwriters, artists like Tony Lucca, Matt Duke, Ingram Hill, and many others.
