KILLING JOKE: Exclusive Track Premiere Hosted By Decibel Magazine

In celebration of their soon-to-be-released three-disc anthology and long anticipated North American tour, Decibel Magazine is offering up a rare stream of KILLING JOKE’s “Timewave” demo! Previously unreleased, the track was recorded during the Absolute Dissent studio sessions and comes by way of The Singles Collection 1979-2012.

Capturing KILLING JOKE’s enormous ever-evolving story with a series of dark, apocalyptic songs that have successfully combined disco, funk and shamanic wisdom with the dark side of the punk rock fall-out, The Singles Collection 1979-2012 offers up thirty-three career-spanning singles over two CDs with an additional third disc of rarities, including previously unreleased studio tracks. The three-CD version will be limited in number, reverting to two CDs containing the singles tracks. The Singles Collection 1979-2012 is set for release via Spinefarm/Universal on May 14, 2013 with the digital version dropping two weeks prior on April 30th.

Check out “Timewave” courtesy of Decibel Magazine at
THIS LOCATION. For the full track listing, point your browser HERE.

As a precursor to the release, KILLING JOKE will embark on a North American run of live dates set to commence April 19 in New York City. The special tour will coast through ten more cities before coming to a close on May 5th in Los Angeles. See the updated itinerary below.

KILLING JOKE The Singles Tour 2013:

4/19/2013 Irving Plaza - New York, NY
4/20/2013 Paradise - Boston, MA
4/21/2013 Union Transfer – Philadelphia, PA
4/23/2013 Cafe Campus – Montreal, QC
4/24/2013 Lee’s Palace – Toronto, ON
4/26/2013 Empty Bottle – Chicago, IL
4/27/2013 Empty Bottle – Chicago, IL
4/30/2013 Neumos – Seattle, WA
5/01/2013 Rickshaw Theatre – Vancouver, BC
5/03/2013 Fillmore – San Francisco, CA
5/04/2013 Brick By Brick – San Diego, CA
5/05/2013 Henry Fonda – Los Angeles, CA

With a fierce intelligence combined with a thirst for esoteric knowledge that matches a sound that is visceral and almost spiritual in its primal spirit, KILLING JOKE are like no other. This is a group spawned from punk rock that set out on one of the most remarkable and idiosyncratic journeys ever. Their influence has been enormous, with an unlikely roll-call of musicians taking their cues from the KJ catalog, from Nirvana to most modern American metal to many DJs and dance music mavericks. With their original line-up of Jaz Coleman, Geordie, Youth and Big Paul continuing to hold firm, KILLING JOKE have something sulphurous and strong that few bands have come close to matching the band’s innate power. Details on a new full-length to be announced in the coming months. Stay tuned.

EXHUMED: North American Tour With Suffocation To Commence Next Week

West Coast gore deviants EXHUMED will take to the streets again this April on a near month long North American rampage alongside headliners, death metal icons Suffocation. The live assaults commence April 4th on Long Island, New York and will level nearly two dozen cities before coming to a close in April 28th in Hartford, Connecticut. Additional support will be provided by Jungle Rot, Rings of Saturn, Adimiron and Lord of War (on select dates).

Says EXHUMED’s Matt Harvey, he of the decrepit death rattle and repugnant requiems: “We're beyond psyched to hit the road with long-time faves of ours, Suffocation. This tour will bring all you maniacs one of the heaviest nights of your lives! We couldn't think of a better way to start our tour cycle for 2013 and get people stoked for our upcoming record. We will be debuting some new tracks and have a new show and set ready to melt your face and make you reevaluate your life decisions. We’ll see all your ugly faces in April for a celebration of guts, grog and grotesqueries! Excelsior!”

Coinciding with the tour kick off, the May 2013 issue of Decibel offers up a brand new EXHUMED flexi featuring the track "The Beginning After the End," taken from the band’s recently completed recording sessions.

Elaborates Harvey: “We're totally psyched about the Decibel flexi! I remember getting the D.R.I. Manifest Destiny flexi in RIP Magazine and the Sabbat Blood For The Blood God flexi in White Dwarf back in the day, so it's killer to carry on in that tradition. We've talked about doing it ever since we got back together, so I'm more surprised that [editor Albert] Mudrian actually let me write about the SF Giants [included in the baseball preview of the same issue], to be honest. But anyway, the track ‘The Beginning After The End’ is something we did during the latest recording sessions, so it will give folks some idea of the sound and vibe of the new record. Hopefully this track will inspire some curiosity and headbanging, as well as increase the sales of Natural Ice beer and home pregnancy tests. It's also part of our incredibly savvy and calculated promotional campaign designed to get as many of you filthy maniacs out in force for our tour with Suffocation this month, so come on down and let's get weird!”

To nab your flexi, order the issue

The track also appears on the Patlapse Tribute Compilation, an audio collection honoring the late Pat Egan, Relapse’s director of sales for the past ten years. Stream the track at

HESSIAN: Song From Belgian Unit’s Southern Lord LP Playing At Invisible Oranges

A track from Belgian faction HESSIAN’s Southern Lord debut Manégarmr has been dispensed today. A rabid surge of energetic punk/metal-infused hardcore raging with a blistering solo and pummeling breakdown with a total by-the-throat approach, on par with acts like Ringworm and Southern Lord mates All Pigs Must Die, “Plague Monger” is a prime example of what happens when the members of HESSIAN combine their damaging talents.
Let the "Plague Monger" off the chain now at now Invisible Oranges.

From the onset, the combined musical backgrounds of this quartet featuring members of Amenra and The Black Heart Rebellion, and part of the Church Of Ra sect fell effortlessly into place, pushing a sound that was at once pummeling, devouring and empowering across the rural fields where they started rehearsing. After a well received debut EP, a split 7" with Amenra, a split LP with Pale Creation on Magic Bullet Records and countless shows throughout Europe, HESSIAN have found a new home with Southern Lord who will unleash the band’s debut album, Manégarmr to the North American masses on April 30th. Check out the cover art by Valentijn Goethals and Tomas Lootens at WeBecameAware and more

Additional new European tour actions for HESSIAN have also been announced, with more to follow throughout the year in an ongoing live campaign in support of Manègarmr.

IRON TONGUE: Arkansas Southern Rock Miscreants Join Neurot Recordings

Neurot Recordings is pleased to release the debut from Arkansas southern rock collective IRON TONGUE! Fronted by Chris “CT” Terry, the founding frontman of sludge legion Rwake, IRON TONGUE formed when a group of veteran players with diverse musical backgrounds found a common interest in the need to get down and dirty and way, way gone.

Churning a soulful blend of girthy, heavily amped, blues-based rock, IRON TONGUE aren’t singing of magical moonlit escapades. The band offer up songs of pain, regret and heartache that recall everything from the proto-metal stomp of Blue Cheer and Grand Funk to the darkest hours of Kiss, Deep Purple, Buddy Guy and ‘Skynyrd. Having spent over three years performing steadily throughout the South, IRON TONGUE has traversed the Midwest and East Coast with Memphis kindred spirits The Dirty Streets, in addition to sharing bills with the likes of Black Tusk, Scott Kelly, The Sword, High on Fire, Crowbar, The Body, Lita Ford and fellow Arkansans Pallbearer. A split 7” with The Dirty Streets, featuring a ballsy version of KISS’s “Two Timer” served as a precursor to the creation their debut full-length for Neurot.

Entitled The Dogs Have Barked, The Birds Have Flown, the seven track offering was recorded and produced by soundsmith Billy Anderson (Melvins, Sleep, Neurosis, etc) at IRON TONGUE guitarist Jason Tedford’s Wolfman Studios. Called “a solid slab of balls to the wall shameless rock, with a power and an edge and soul that rarely exists in music today,” by Neurosis’ Steve Von Till, The Dogs Have Barked, The Birds Have Flown is set for release via Neurot Recordings on May 27th in Europe and May 28th in North America.

Comments drummer Stan James of joining the Neurot family: “IRON TONGUE is excited and honored to be a part of the Neurot team! We are looking forward to working hard every step of the way and we are committed to making music that everyone will be proud of.”

QUEENSRYCHE unveils full version of debut track, "Redemption," from upcoming release out June 11

Legendary Seattle rockers QUEENSRYCHE return with new music from their upcoming soon-to-be-titled release slated for June 11th. The band debuted the full version of the song "Redemption" on SiriusXM Satellite Radio on Monday, March 25th on Ozzy's Boneyard and Eddie Trunk Live/Trunk Nation simultaneously at 7:00PM EST/4:00PM PST. The song is posted on the label's YouTube page and can be viewed here.
The band wrote "Redemption" collectively with Michael and Todd with the melodies and lyrics written by Todd. The single "Redemption" and upcoming Century Media release marks the debut from the lineup comprised of Todd La Torre (Vocals), Michael Wilton (Guitars), Parker Lundgren (Guitars), Eddie Jackson (Bass) and Scott Rockenfield (Drums). The song was mixed and mastered by famed QUEENSRYCHE producer James "Jimbo" Barton who is known for working on the band's classics, Operation: Mindcrime and Empire.

QUEENSRYCHE is wrapping up the first leg of the "Return To History World Tour" on March 30 in Uncasville, CT. The tour kicked off on March 5th in Dubuque, IA and has been receiving critical acclaim anywhere they have played. RockUSNews declared of their recent show in NY: "I've seen QUEENSRYCHE perform live many times at some of the most intimate locations and at some of the largest arenas. I left that night happy thinking that I couldn't remember them having ever played better." BackstageAxxess recently raved: "Todd had huge shoes to fill but I think he does it easily and then some. The rebirth of this band is exciting and made me appreciate them once again. They are playing the best material and to put it simply, QUEENSRYCHE with Todd La Torre works." The tour will continue through April in Canada and Europe with additional dates being added throughout the summer. Tickets for all shows are currently on-sale now.

QUEENSRYCHE first burst onto the music scene in 1982 with the release of their self-titled 4 song EP Queensryche. They very quickly gained international recognition and performed to sold-out audiences around the world. With the follow up first full-length album, The Warning, in 1984, and the ground-breaking 1986 release of Rage For Order, QUEENSRYCHE continued to prove their worldwide dominance as one of the most respected and creative bands of the 80's. In 1988 the band turned out yet another monumental album, Operation: Mindcrime, which would go on to become one of the TOP 10 best selling concepts records of all time, and set the stage for continued sold-out performances around the world. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Empire in 1991, the band earned multiple Grammy Award nominations and won the MTV "Viewer's Choice" award for the #1 chart topping hit, "Silent Lucidity". During the next ten years, the band continued to release albums and tour the world to sold-out audiences. QUEENSRYCHE has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and have continued to break new ground and push their creative process.

Kylesa Stream "Quicksand" via Spin; New Cover Art & Track Listing Revealed

Kylesa premiere “Quicksand,” a new song from their forthcoming album Ultraviolet (May 28, Season of Mist), via Spin.

"'Quicksand' is a quick 2:35 of ghostly dreamdoom that joins the melodies of '90s shoegaze with the churn of modern sludge and a riff straight from the Billy Corgan playbook,” says Spin in a brief write-up accompanying the song stream, adding that the song is “a muscular swirl that should please anyone who thought m b v didn't have enough shouting.”

The band has also unveiled the cover art for Ultraviolet, which was done by Sean Beaudry. Beaudry, a fellow Savannah resident, did the artwork for the band’s Time Will Fuse Its Worth reissue. Pre-order bundles for the new album are available now here.

Ultraviolet track listing:

1. Exhale

2. Unspoken

3. Grounded

4. We’re Taking This

5. Long Gone

6. What Does It Take

7. Steady Breakdown

8. Low Tide

9. Vulture’s Landing

10. Quicksand

11. Drifting

Kylesa will play a free, all ages show in their hometown of Savannah at The Dollhouse on Apr. 19 as a way to thank fans for their ongoing support.

Pitchfork, in the band’s first interview regarding Ultraviolet, said of the album: “It’s the… heavy rock band’s darkest, most atmospheric record to date. The collection, which features an array of subtle electronic elements, makes for an expressive, immersive listen that will likely find the double-drumming quintet a larger audience.”

Unspoken,” also from Ultraviolet, was released online in late February, leading Stereogum to say “… if the album’s first single is any indication, they’ve continued moving away from their peers as well as their own past, conquering new territory,” adding “it’s a total triumph.” The song can be streamed here.

OLEANDER RETURNS WITH FOURTH ALBUM, ‘SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL,’APRIL 16 ON RE_IGNITE RECORDS

Even with an 8-year break between projects, OLEANDER never broke up, says bassist Doug Eldridge. “We said, 'Let's sit back for a while and enjoy life.'" That they did, and now they’re returning with their fourth album, SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, due April 16 on RE_IGNITE Records via Kobalt Label Services. The title track, which is the album’s first single, is now available at digital retail outlets. Fans can pre-order the album at iTunes starting today as well. “Something Beautiful” will be released to radio on April 8. A video for the single, which was recently shot in Los Angeles and directed by Daniel Karp, premieres today on Vevo.

There’s a theme and a lyrical connective tissue to SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL. The result is an album that bridges the gap between modern and alternative rock. "We are all in the same boat, trying to get from point A to point B, whether we are in traffic or trying to figure out how to pay bills,” says singer Tom Flowers. “We're fighting for our lives. That's true for a lot of us and for people." Flowers explains that songs like “Something Beautiful” and "Daylight" "are reflective of our lives today, even on a moment-to-moment basis. If fans are interested in knowing what we go through, don't look further than the marriage between the music and the lyrics. We spent a lot of time making sure they balance and complement each other."

The track "Fight!" is currently being featured as the title track of the “WWE '12” video game and is available on iTunes with a version that includes vocals by UFC fighter Urijah Faber. "I went to Pasadena (CA) to the studio,” explains Eldridge, “recorded my bass parts and we were still hyper analyzing what we had, how to approach from melodic and lyrical perspective. On the plane ride home, I sat next to Urijah Faber. It was appropriate. We started talking about music and I was telling him that we're working on a song and hashing it out." The music conversation developed into a music business chat. They kept in contact and, ultimately, Faber hit the studio to appear on the song.
OLEANDER—Tom Flowers (lead vocals), Doug Eldridge (bass), Ric Ivanisevich (guitar), Steve Brown (drums), Rich Mouser (guitar)—first came to prominence in the late ‘90s and early '00s, releasing FEBRUARY SON (1999) and UNWIND (2001), before moving over to Sanctuary for JOYRIDE (2003). All in all, they’ve sold over 563,500 albums and 157,000 digital songs, including the Top 20 hits “Why I’m Here” and “Are You There?”

Even after their last show in Sacramento in 2005, everyone in the band always felt they would do something together again and they stayed in touch. Eldridge remembers, "Around 2009 and 2010, Tom had been in another band, doing his thing. It had been a long time, but we thought, 'Let's play some music. Let's see if it's fun again.'"

As Flowers continues, "We're coming back to this crazy industry, presenting a new record and it's so unattractive to us to consider trying to compete with younger guys, better looking guys, harder rocking guys. We're just a group of friends that happen to enjoy making music together and have a platform for releasing it. It's not about the ego."

SEVENDUST NINTH STUDIO ALBUM, “BLACK OUT THE SUN,” OUT TODAY

As the fans proudly and bombastically chant at the opening of every show, “SEVENDUST has arrived!” That mantra has even more meaning as it heralds the release of the band’s new album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, now available everywhere.

The Atlanta band (@Sevendust)--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals)—released their highly anticipated ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, today on their 7Bros. Records in conjunction with ADA Label Services. The first single, “Decay,” is currently bulleted on the BDS Active Rock Chart at #13 and the Mediabase Active Rock chart at #12. It has also spent the past four weeks in the #1 spot on SiriusXM’s “Big Uns” countdown on the Octane active rock channel.

Also released today was the video for “Decay,” which makes its debut on FUSE’s website and it’s also airing on Xbox LIVE.

SEVENDUST continues to prove why they’re the hardest touring band in Rock today as they criss-cross the U.S. on their headlining tour with Lacuna Coil and Candlelight Red through March 27 in El Cajon, CA. From there, they’ll team up with Coal Chamber for a co-headlining tour starting March 28 in Tempe, AZ at The Marquee and concluding April 28 in Dallas, TX at The Palladium Ballroom. Starting April 30, the band will play headlining shows joined by such bands as Pop Evil and In This Moment. Stops at festival shows, including Rock On The Range in Columbus, OH on Sunday, May 19, will be made throughout the on-going headlining tour.

As Drumhead magazine praised: ““Somehow Sevendust grows stronger with each successive album...BLACK OUT THE SUN sees Sevendust at their most uncompromising, unwavering and undeniable.” While Outburn magazine agreed: ““...brooding verses that build up to cavernous choruses and raging, blues based fretwork that reveals the band’s Southern roots...BLACK OUT THE SUN stands as their most polished effort yet.” And ArtistDIRECT.com concludes: “Sevendust have made a landmark record in a career of landmark records, but they've still got even more to give.”

Check out SEVENDUST at any of the following stops. Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.
