SEVENDUST FIRST SINGLE, “DECAY,” PREMIERES ONLINE; ADDS MORE TOUR DATES WITH LACUNA COIL AND COAL CHAMBER

Hot on the heels of last week’s Billboard.com premiere of the first single, “Decay,” from their forthcoming album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, SEVENDUST has added a slew of new tour dates to their previously-announced headlining trek with Lacuna Coil that starts February 2 in Winston-Salem, NC at Ziggy’s.

SEVENDUST--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), Morgan Rose (drums/vocals), Clint Lowery (guitar/vocals), Vince Hornsby (bass/vocals) and John Connolly (guitar/vocals)—will team up with Coal Chamber for a co-headlining tour starting March 28 in Tempe, AZ at The Marquee and concluding April 28 in Dallas, TX at The Palladium Ballroom. In addition, a handful of shows with Candlelight Red (whose latest DEMONS EP was produced by SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose) will start March 15 in New Orleans, LA at the House of Blues. The SEVENDUST/Coal Chamber run will include stops at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, CA on March 29 and at the Best Buy Theater in New York, NY on April 17.

The Atlanta band has created the SEVENDUST "Black Out The Sun" Pre-Sale Package, which will be available beginning THIS Wednesday, January 16 at http://tixx1.artistarena.com/sevendust/. It will offer opportunities for fans to pre-purchase their new album and ticket to the show.

All this touring comes in support of SEVENDUST’s highly anticipated release of their ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, March 26 on their 7Bros. Records label (through Warner Music Group's Independent Label Group). Now that it officially had its online premiere, “Decay” will soon be heard on terrestrial radio stations nationwide and available for download at online retail outlets January 22.

As drummer Morgan Rose recently explained to Billboard.com, “Decay” was actually one of the final songs tracked for BLACK OUT THE SUN, which started as a riff left over from the COLD RAY MEMORY recording sessions. "We were starting to get burnt and we didn't want to push it," he says. "So we had this riff, and we said, 'Let's jam it and see if anything comes of it.' And before you know it, it became a song that ends up on the record, and everybody listens to it and they end up picking that as the single, which was pretty cool."

In a review of “Decay,” ArtistDIRECT.com raved: “The first single from their forthcoming ninth studio album, BLACK OUT THE SUN, seesaws between tight and tough pummeling from guitar-slingers Clint Lowery and John Connolly, pounding rhythms from Morgan Rose and bassist Vinnie Hornsby, and Lajon Witherspoon's unmistakable scream from the soul. After a groan of feedback, eerie clean guitar builds with a hum before steamrolling into a chugging verse. It's as potent as the band's early fare, but simultaneously the melodies rise elegantly with seasoned songwriting chops....This band remains one of the most crushingly consistent of the past 20 years. They've never wavered in their infectiousness or intensity, and that's why they're nine albums deep. For fans, rest assured. SEVENDUST hit harder and heavier than ever with their best offering since SEASONS and one of the best hard rock records of 2013.”

Check out SEVENDUST at any of the following stops. Fans should check their local ticket outlets for purchase info.

Rob and I are using Skype to work on solos and other guitar parts, so he's being great. ABORTED posts new lyric video for "Vermicular, Obscene, Obese" online; kicks off European tour next week

Goremasters ABORTED are heading out on tour with VADER this month, and fans can expect the band to play a ton of old and new classics! To celebrate this upcoming European tour, ABORTED has now launched a new lyric video for "Vermicular, Obscene, Obese" on Terrorizer.com (UK). ABORTED vocalist and leading force, Sven De Caluwe, explains the meaning of the track: "Eating carbs is bad mmmkay? So yeah we have this new lyric video up for 'Vermicular, Obscene, Obese'...Which isn't really about carbs, unless you count corpses as carbs, or grannies, or trannies, or something...It's also absolutely not about mass consumerism and other social points of view since we are as brain dead as our music, so go check out the funky stuff from the funky bunch, and enjoy!"

UPON WINGS to Release Afterlife EP Featuring Brett Hestla (Ex-Creed, Dark New Day)

UPON WINGS is proud to announce the release of their new EP, Afterlife, featuring guest vocals and production from Brett Hestla (Ex-Creed, Dark New Day). Afterlife is scheduled for a March 5th release on Sword of the Spirit Records LLC.

The EP's debut single and title track is set to hit alternative and rock radio and digital outlets on Jan. 15, but you can hear it first today courtesy of Noisecreep. Head HERE to check out an exclusive stream of the title track "Afterlife".

Rock and metal fans will recognize plenty of names on "Afterlife." Kid Rock recording engineer and Grammy-nominated mixing engineer Glenn Brown mastered the single, while Brett Hestla (ex-Creed, Dark New Day) provided guest vocals and production talents. More metal assistance for the upcoming EP came from producer and guitarist Kevin Jardine, best known as the guitarist of Canadian nu metal giants Slaves on Dope, formerly on Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne's Divine Recordings label. Drummer Peter Tzaferis also contributed to the EP.

Recording sessions for "Afterlife" took place at Johnny K's legendary Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, where Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Staind and countless other heavy music-makers have laid down tracks.

UPON WINGS combines operatic, female-fronted goth-pop with rousing rock and metal in a unique, ethereal fashion. Frontwoman Anne Autumn Erickson is a classically-trained dramatic mezzo-soprano, and her lyrics take listeners down a path of heartfelt introspection, pain, joy and faith.

Statement from Anthrax about Rob Caggiano's Departure From the Band

"Rob has been an integral part of Anthrax for so many years, as our lead guitarist, in a production capacity, but most of all, as our close friend. His contributions to the band have been enormous. While we are sad that he is leaving, we wish him nothing but great success going forward, and hope to share the stage with him again sometime down the road.

"With the Metal Alliance Tour on the horizon, we have been considering several lead guitarist options, and will be making an announcement on that shortly."

ANTHRAX - Charlie Benante, Scott Ian, Frank Bello, Joey Belladonna

Rob Caggiano Leaves Anthrax

After a long and successful run as guitarist for the legendary thrash metal act Anthrax, Rob Caggiano has decided that it's time to move on and focus on his other passion: producing records for the time being. Already an acclaimed rock and metal producer, Rob has amassed a long list of production credits working with acts such as Cradle of Filth (on their Grammy-nominated classic Nymphetamine), The Damned Things, and Jesse Malin to name a few. Rob's production work on the most recent Anthrax studio album Worship Music received high recognition, as the track "I'm Alive" received a Grammy Nomination for Best Rock + Metal Performance.

Being a member of the mighty Anthrax for the better part of the last 12 years is something that Caggiano is of course very proud of. This was not an easy decision to make.

"I'm extremely proud of my time in Anthrax. Actually, that's an understatement! We accomplished so many great things together over the years and I shared some of the best times of my life with these guys. As a band, we also weathered quite a few storms along the way. It's been a wild ride (to say the least) from Day One and I wouldn't change one single thing about the last 12 years. This is an extremely difficult and emotional decision for me to make but my heart is just steering me in a different direction right now. I've always been one to follow my heart in everything that I do and while this might be one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, it feels like the right one for me at this time. Scott, Charlie, Joey, Frankie (and John Bush) will always be part of my family and this decision doesn't change the way I feel about that in the slightest. I would also like to say thanks to all the amazing fans I've met and hung out with worldwide over the years. You guys always were and always will be the reason why I make music! In this day and age, being a musician isn't always easy -also an understatement- but the fans truly make it worthwhile for me. I hope to see each and every one of you again really soon. The fact that Anthrax is at the top of their game right now and totally 'out for blood' after all these years is a testament to this band's longevity and conviction! I'm truly honored to have been a part of their brilliant legacy."

With this new direction, Caggiano very much looks forward to getting back to producing/recording/writing again in the immediate future.

"I can't wait to get back in the recording studio again! Over the years, I've been blessed with the privilege of working with a wide range of great bands/artists from Anthrax and Cradle of Filth all the way to Bruce Springsteen, and I look forward to a hopeful continuation of that side of my career while I figure out my next move as an artist. BTW in case anyone was wondering after reading all of this, I do FULLY intend to get back out there on the road very soon in some way shape or form....it's in my blood! Please feel free to follow me on Twitter @RobCaggiano for any and all updates on what I am up to."

HEAVEN'S CRY PREMIERE TRACK ON LAMBGOAT

Canadian progressive metallists HEAVEN'S CRY will be premiering the song "Komma" from the upcoming reissue of their second album, "Primal Power Addiction", exclusively on LAMBGOAT.COM HERE.

HEAVEN'S CRY's first two releases, "Food For Thought Substitute", along with the follow-up,"Primal Power Addiction", will be reissued by PROSTHETIC RECORDS on January 8th, following the success of the band's recently released comeback album "Wheels of Impermanence". Both of the reissues feature revamped artwork as well as being newly remixed by Yannick St-Amand (Despised Icon, Beneath The Massacre, Kataklysm) and remastered by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Symphony X) in addition to "Primal Power Addiction" being re-sequenced. You can pre-order both albums on the PROSTHETIC IndieMerch store HERE (www.indiemerch.com/prostheticrecords/item/17436).

"Wheels of Impermanence" marked the first new music from the band (who were originally formed in the early 90's) in the past seven years. The band currently consists of Pierre St-Jean (Vocals/guitar), Sylvain Auclair (Vocals/bass), Eric Jarrin (Guitar,ex-Despised Icon), and René Lacharité (drums). They were most recently seen headlining the prestigious Prog-Power Festival Europe in the Netherlands and have since been announced to appear at the 2013 ProgPower USA Festival.
