VREID: Norwegian Black Metallers Issue Tour Wrap-Up

Norwegian black metallers, VREID, recently returned from their Black Path Of America Tour with Kampfar and Necronomicon. The near three-week trek was met with an array of obstacles and weather calamities but was nevertheless a huge success for the band.

Noted Hellbound.com in a live review: "[VREID] filled the venue with sound and energy, and were the driving force behind the success of this concert." Highwire Daze agreed: "The crowd was swept away by the dark intricacies and sheer intensity of the material. The music was grand and epic, filled with staggering dynamics that were wondrous to behold..." Abort.com commended the band saying: "Headliners VREID were abundant in technical lead guitar work," while Metaltitans.com added: "...I had done a CD review for them, and enjoyed it, but to see them live is another experience that everyone should have... extremely high energy, amazing guitar riffs, and fast drum blasts."

Commented bassist Hváll on the journey: "Our North America headlining tour has come to an end and what a journey this was. We were met by tornados, hurricanes and earthquakes, but managed to pull it off anyway. Unfortunately, our New York City show was canceled [due to Hurricane Irene], but New York will be our number one priority for our next North America tour. It was pure pleasure for us to see all the diehard fans coming to the shows. Your energy made these shows magical for us. Montreal, Hollywood, Edmonton, Winnipeg, San Francisco and Seattle were all shows that we will remember for a long time to come. Thanks to everyone who attended. VREID will return."

As previously announced, Goddamnit, VREID’s 2010 DVD, is now available officially for the first time in the U.S. and Canada via Indie’s recently launched North American webshop. The DVD features VREID’s complete performance from the 2009 Inferno festival in Norway, filmed by seven cameras as well as behind-the-scenes footage, band interviews, studio diaries and previously unseen live footage.
