Montreal based extreme metallers KATAKLYSM will headline a benefit concert for heart attack and stroke victims on Thursday July, 5th 2012. The event will take place at the Halifax Forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. The official name of the event is the "Spread the Metal Festival" and all ticket sales are going towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation. KATAKLYSM will release a multidisc DVD on June 19th entitled "The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined", which features a documentary and bonus CD materials. The set will depict the ups and downs of the band's long, turbulent career, as well as footage of KATAKLYSM's performance at last year's Summer Breeze festival, which took place August 18-20, 2011 in Dinkelsbühl, Germany. The cover art for the release was created by artist Colin Marks (ORIGIN, EXODUS, NEVERMORE) and can be viewed above.

KATAKLYSM recently recorded the single "The Iron Will" in Montreal, Canada with guitarist/producer Jean-François Dagenais. It will be mixed Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, BEHEMOTH, MNEMIC) in Denmark and will be made available with a video clip on iTunes one month before the release of "The Iron Will: 20 Years Determined".

Watch the video clip for the song "At the Edge of the World" here. The footage was taken from the bands hometown show at Club Soda in Montreal, which was part of their recent “Spread the Venom” headlining world tour. “At the Edge of the World” comes from the bands latest acclaimed album Heaven's Venom. The video clip was filmed by director Tommy Jones (DEATH ANGEL, SOILWORK), who is also helming the bands upcoming Documentary/DVD "THE IRON WILL: 20 YEARS DETERMINED".
KATAKLYSM’s new album Heaven’s Venom was released on August 24th 2010 in North America and sold around 2,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 7 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart and #196 on the Billboard Top Current Albums chart, making it the bands highest charting album and their biggest first week sales to date. Heatseekers lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
Heaven’s Venom was recorded by KATAKLYSM guitarist J-F Dagenais (MALEVOLENT CREATION, MISERY INDEX) and was mixed by Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MNEMIC, DARK TRANQUILLITY).
KATAKLYSM shot a video clip for the song "Push The Venom" with director Ivan Colic (TYPE O NEGATIVE, UNLEASHED, DEATHSTARS, EX DEO) in Belgrade, Serbia. The clip can be viewed here.
