JEFF LOOMIS has released a guitar playthrough video for the track "Requiem For The Living". Featuring guest soloist Attila Voros, "Requiem For The Living" can be found on the forthcoming album, Plains Of Oblivion, which will be out on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe. THE SAFETY FIRE announces release date change, pre-orders for new album, “Grind Th e Ocean”; ready to tour with PROTEST THE HE RO, PERIPHERY, JEFF LOOMIS
Originally set to be released in late February via Inside Out Music, THE SAFETY FIRE's debut full-length, Grind The Ocean, is now due out on April 9th in the UK and April 10th in North America. In regards to this release date change, the band comments:
"Unfortunately we are sad to announce that the official release of our album 'Grind the Ocean' has been delayed until April 2012 in the UK and US. Our team and label have been doing some amazing work over the past few months, and feel that delaying the official release, will give us some great opportunities- There will be new content released over the coming months, so keep your eyes open...Please note the release in other (territories) are unaffected and will be available online and in shops."
"HOWEVER, we wanted there to be some good news for our friends in the UK & US, so we are very happy to announce a special pre-order for YOU the fans which will be released on the original date of February 27th. In regards to the tour, guitarist Derya "Dez" Nagle comments: "We are super hyped to come to the US, especially with such an amazing lineup. We are huge fans of all the bands playing and feel they all bring their own unique vibe to what should be an amazing tour. It's our first time to the US, and we are ready to bring the ruckus/party."

JEFF LOOMIS To Release New Album "Plains of Oblivion" in April 2012
After releasing a handful of updates and teasers, JEFF LOOMIS fans have been dying to know when they can expect the ex-Nevermore guitar prodigy's forthcoming album. It is with much excitement that JEFF LOOMIS finally reveals the details of his highly anticipated sophomore effort entitled Plains of Oblivion. The new album will be released on April 10th in North America and April 9th in Europe via Century Media Records. The ten track effort will be produced by Aaron Smith (7 Horns 7 Eyes) and is some of JEFF LOOMIS' best work yet. The full track listing and artwork for Plains of Oblivion can be seen below. JEFF LOOMIS teamed up with Colin Marks of Rain Song Design (www.rain-song.co.uk) to create the intriguing artwork. Marks is most well known for his previous work with All Shall Perish, The End and Xerath.

JEFF LOOMIS Announces namm appearances; reveals guest musicians on upcoming album
Guitar prodigy JEFF LOOMIS has locked himself in the studio for the past few months perfecting his highly anticipated sophomore solo record, to be released later this year. After his departure from NEVERMORE and the release of his solo debut -- Zero Order Phase in 2008 -- fans have been craving a new album. With a number of influential musicians appearing on the upcoming release, JEFF LOOMIS is more than ready to deliver. Details on two NAMM appearances have also been announced. JEFF LOOMIS comments:
"A couple of years ago I achieved my childhood dream of releasing a solo album. With the releasing of my second record coming up, I'm proud to announce another dream come true...or should I say dreams...Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine and Chris Poland have all done guest solos for it. These guys must have given me hundreds of blisters on my fingers when I was a kid trying in vain to emulate their work. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out some of their solos. To have three guitar players that I looked up to as a young player and still hold in such high regard is simply amazing. I can't thank those guys enough.
In other news, I'll be down in Southern CA next week for this year's NAMM show. I have two new Schecter models that I'll be showing and I'll be doing a signing Saturday, the 21st, at their booth at 1pm as well as another one later that day with Engl Amps at 5. Also, I just confirmed a full US tour for April. I can't wait to get back out on the road again. More details on that soon."
