Jane's Addiction Offers $1000 to Design Remix Artwork

Jane’'s Addiction, living legends in alternative rock, have teamed up with Creative Allies to crowd source a digital single artwork design for the grand prize winning “Irresistible Force” Indaba Music remix. Mindless Faith, a Baltimore-based Indaba Music member, created the winning remix of the swirling, moody and epic composition from Jane’s Addiction’s anticipated new album ‘The Great Escape Artist’, set for release on October 18, 2011.

Creative Allies’ worldwide network of artists will have the opportunity to design the single artwork for the Jane’s Addiction “Irresistible Force” Indaba Remix winner by listening to the winning track, and uploading their unique design to the Jane’s Addiction contest page. Jane's Addiction Announce New York Venue

After an incredible response to their first set of special "small club" launch shows in Chicago this past weekend, and with high anticipation for next week's upcoming shows in Los Angeles October 3 & 4—both cities of which sold out within minutes of their on sales--JANE’S ADDICTION has announced today details for their upcoming New York City engagements. They will perform Monday, October 17 and Tuesday, October 18, at Irving Plaza as part of their third and final pair of shows with Citi to mark the release of their newest offering THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST which will be released that week (October 18).

These dates for JANE’S ADDICTION-- frontman Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins, along with Chris Chaney on bass—are a part of a one-of-a-kind series of two-night stands that will also take place in Chicago at the Metro (where they initially launched Nothing’s Shocking with two sold-out shows in 1988) and Hollywood’s John Anson Ford Theatre in Los Angeles where they completed a series of sold out shows in 1989.

The idea of big bands playing small rooms is always a special experience for the fans, but for JANE’S ADDICTION, their special engagements that have them partnering with Citi in September and October to launch their newest offering THE GREAT ESCAPE ARTIST, will also take them back to re-play some of their early classic shows in legendary venues. On Monday, October 3 and Tuesday, October 4, the alternative rock pioneers will perform at Hollywood’s historic John Anson Ford Theatre where in April of 1989 they completed a series of sold-out shows for their ground-breaking debut album Nothing’s Shocking (originally released in August 1988).

JANE'S ADDICTION has released a video to give fans a deeper look into the meaning of their latest single, "Irresistible Force" from the band's upcoming album, The Great Escape Artist. Perry Ferrell states that "this is song is about The Big Bang Theory as told by Perry Ferrell. The Big Bang was actually sexual intercourse, like cosmic sexual intercourse. And that's the best way I can explain it to ya." Watch the video as Dave Navarro explains the writing process of the song and Perkins explains how the song relates to the band and their history.
