NAPALM DEATH re-signs worldwide deal with Century Media Records

Century Media Records has renewed their deal with British grindcore legend NAPALM DEATH! In regards to the re-signing, Jens Prüter (Head of A&R, Century Media Records) comments, "NAPALM DEATH is not only one of the most important and influential extreme metal bands, they are also a band that always raises their voice against social ills-- and even against record companies (remember 'Enemy Of Music Business'). Therefore I'm even more glad about NAPALM DEATH re-signing to Century Media for more great albums of intelligent and meaningful noise. And have you ever seen a weak NAPALM DEATH show? I haven't, and I have seen them MANY times and will never get tired to see them again and again. Thanks to Mitch, Danny, Shane and Barney for their resilience and resistance-- and a special thanks to Marc from MAD for fighting on their side."

NAPALM DEATH vocalist Mark 'Barney' Greenway also comments, "We're very happy to be re-signing to Century Media. In fact, I think it's the first time we've actually re-signed on a longer term deal with anybody since the days when we didn't strictly know that we could be digging ourselves a big hole with labels...It's important for NAPALM to stay with an independent, and Century proved to us with their overall enthusiasm and attention that this is where we needed to be. There's a perfect balance of getting the band out there in people's faces whilst still understanding the point that not everything is acceptable or 'ethical' promotion. It's more like working with friends who actually care, and who could argue with that?"

The band finished recording their upcoming 14th studio album earlier this year at Parlour Studio in Kettering, UK with long-time producer Russ Russell, and they are currently on the road in Russia. Known as one of the most reliable and hardest working bands in extreme music, NAPALM DEATH will also tour extensively in Canada in October and will appear at 2012's Maryland Deathfest. CRAIG LOCICERO OF FORBIDDEN LAUNCHES ΩMEGA WAVE PODCAST

This Friday, March 4^th at 6 p.m. PACIFIC / 9 p.m. EASTERN, the Ωmega Wave live podcast will host special guest Barney Greenway of Napalm Death.   It will then be made available for streaming on demand.

FORBIDDEN / Demonica / SpiralArms guitarist & songwriter Craig Locicero and his co-host "Barbwire" Bill Shields (former host for In the Dark Radio, Professional Wrestler and current Ordained Minister of the Collective Conscious) will be taking questions and speaking off-the-cuff on whatever news-related and controversial subject may come up.

The goals of the show are two-fold:

1) To speak to different compelling and controversial lyricists in Metal and Hard Rock weekly.  They will be asked about their motivation, their craft, and what exactly inspires them in these challenging times to do what they do.  Their thoughts & opinions on the most current affairs and intensely debated issues will also be discussed.

2) Have listeners sit in on a real conversation between good friends without censorship watering those thoughts down.  Hosts Bill and Craig will be taking questions & topic suggestions live and will have unfiltered reactions to them in real time. These conversations will not hold back and could get very heated at times, depending on the topic.

Tune in live this Friday to the Ωmega Wave Show here.

Previous podcasts & guests include: Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth, Sons of Liberty), Henrik Ohlsson (Scar Symmetry), and Neil Fallon (Clutch, the Company Band).  All of them had much different points of view but all generally want the same thing: a better world for our children's children to live in!

Future guests will include Michael Amott & Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy, Dave Brockie of Gwar, Maurizio Iacono of Kataklysm, Charles Elliott of Abysmal Dawn and many more!

Listen to the tracks “Forsaken At The Gates” and “Dragging My Casket” from FORBIDDEN’s 2010 reunion album, Omega Wave, here.

Purchase Omega Wave (digi-pak or vinyl version) at the Nuclear Blast USA webstore.
