Formed in 2008 by Parker Jameson, Spencer Weidner and Charlie Federici, the band self-released an EP in 2010 under the moniker MASSAKREN and played numerous shows across the US. A buzz about the band soon developed in the metal underground, and in tandem with signing to global powerhouse Century Media Records, they decided to change their name to STARKILL to mark the next chapter in their musical career.

While most of their peers were listening to and playing to the "core" US-based bands, the members of STARKILL spent their days cutting their chops to European metal-- and the band makes no qualms about wearing their influences on their sleeves. Inspired by the likes of early CHILDREN OF BODOM à la the now classic Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper, in addition to NIGHTWISH, AMON AMARTH and DRAGONFORCE, STARKILL aims to pay homage to these acts, while also putting their own spin on Euro-metal-- and their new album, Fires of Life, does just that.

Produced by the band's own Jameson and mastered by death metal legend, James Murphy (DEATH, TESTAMENT, OBITUARY), the album's concept, both lyrically and musically, is overlain in medieval fantasy-themed battles, mythology, and destruction. Fires of Life's artwork, created by renowned metal artist, Joshua Belanger, captures this perfectly.

Stay tuned for more news about STARKILL and Fires of Life coming soon!

ANGELUS APATRIDA debuts new song, "You Are Next"

Spanish thrash metallers ANGELUS APATRIDA are back with a new studio album entitled The Call, which is to be released on April 30th in Europe and digitally on May 8th in North America via Century Media Records. A first taste of the relentless power displayed on The Call can now be experienced by checking out the dynamic opening track, "You Are Next" here

In regards to the song and The Call, ANGELUS APATRIDA comments: "We think that 'The Call' is a record that represents the wide variety of styles and elements in our music extremely well; every song stands alone strong and unique in its own way, making the album a whole piece that needs to be heard completely to get the full idea of the sound of the band. But, if we had to choose one song to represent the whole thing, it would be 'You Are Next' because, both lyrical and musically, it showcases the anger and fury we wanted to put into this album, and also reflects the step forward we feel we have made technically. It's a song that starts slowly and trying to capture the listener before exploding into a furious sonic assault."

The same creative team that worked on the band's previous release, Clockwork, has teamed-up with them again for this new effort: it was once again recorded in Moita, Portugal at Ultrasound Studio with producer Daniel Cardoso (ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN, ANATHEMA, etc.) and the striking artwork was handled by Gustavo Sazes from Abstrata (ARCH ENEMY, KRISIUN, etc.). The track-listing for the album is below.

The Call track-listing
1. You Are Next
2. At The Gates Of Hell
3. Violent Dawn
4. It's Rising!
5. Blood On The Snow
6. Killer Instinct
7. The Hope Is Gone
8. Fresh Pleasure
9. Still Corrupt
10. Reborn

3 INCHES OF BLOOD TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM, "LONG LIVE HEAVY METAL" ON MARCH 27th

Traditionalist metal gods 3 INCHES OF BLOOD will release their highly anticipated 5th studio album, Long Live Heavy Metal , on March 27th via Century Media Records. Keeping true to their core and bringing their forthcoming album title to life, fans can expect a blast of pure metal assured to leave no face un-melted. "LONG LIVE HEAVY METAL is the fifth chapter in the book of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud of our new onslaught of Honest Heavy Metal," says guitarist Justin Hagberg. For Long Live Heavy Metal, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD reunited with producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (City of Fire, Exhibitionists), who worked with the band on their 7", Anthems for the Victorious.

"When a band is releasing a new record, they often speak about it being their most important work or best album to date. Regardless of how clichéd either statement may sound, I think we would say both apply to this album," explains vocalist Cam Pipes. "All of us have a special feeling about this one. We're more committed than ever to the cause of real, honest, no bullshit heavy metal. No trends, no fucking around!"

Beginning March 16th, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD will head out on the "Metal Alliance Tour 2012" alongside DEVILDRIVER, THE FACELESS, DYING FETUS, JOB FOR A COWBOY, IMPENDING DOOM and WRETCHED.
