SKELETONWITCH: New Song Stream Available

Today Ohio metal goliaths SKELETONWITCH are streaming “new” track, "Tragedy of Days" at Prosthetic Records’ official bandcamp page. Never formally released on record in the States, the tune was recorded during the Forever Abomination sessions with producer Matt Hyde and appeared on the Decibel Magazine Flexi-Disc series (Oct. 2011 issue) as well as the Japanese edition of Forever Abomination.
Comments guitarist Scott Hedrick of the track: “’Tragedy of Days’ was an epic instrumental by [guitarist] Nate [Garnette]'s former band Serkesoron. They disbanded after the untimely passing of Serkesoron's frontman, Thom Wright. Shortly after the band called it quits, SKELETONWITCH was born. We re-recorded the track and Chance [Garnette] addedvocals as a tribute to Thom, immortalizing him in song."
Check out "Tragedy of Days" at THIS LOCATION.
In related news, the new vinyl reissues of the SKELETONWITCH's breakthrough releases Breathing The Fire and Beyond The Permafrost are now shipping from the Prosthetic Store. Both are available in three variants -- splatter, half-and-half and 180-gram black wax -- and feature gatefold Stoughton "tip-on" record jackets. Pictures of the limited-edition colored LPs can be seen HERE. The black vinyl versions of both albums will be available in select retail stores on April 10.
Additionally, the band recently unveiled a new video for the song “The Infernal Resurrection,” which comes off their The studio offering, Forever Abomination. To view the clip, which documents the band in live pillage mode in Europe, head over to Metal Injection.

SKELETONWITCH are currently setting stage ablaze on tour alongside The Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and labelmates Hour Of Penance. SKELETONWITCH CONFIRMS U.S. TOUR WITH THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER

American metal demigods, SKELETONWITCH, who are currently on a U.K. tour with The Black Dahlia Murder, will join that same band on a U.S. tour this spring. After touring last fall with the likes of Arch Enemy, Devildriver, Kvelertak, Chimaira and more, this will mark the group's first domestic tour of 2012.

Guitarist Scott Hedrick checks in with the following update: "We're in the midst of shredding England with The Black Dahlia Murder, and it's been a whirlwind of beer, booze, blast beats and kabobs! Most bands do a handful of U.K. shows; we're doing 21. Either we're onto something here or we're fucking insane. Probably a bit of both... and it's only going to get worse when we team up with Black Dahlia again in the States and throw Nile and Hour of Penance into the mix. Fucking stoked! Hope to see you there. If the site posting this press release doesn't have the dates listed (shame on you metal website guy!), you can view them at Facebook.com/SkeletonwitchMetal

"Hyperbole aside, thanks to everyone who has supported Skeletonwitch. We love and live for the road and couldn't do it without you! See you soon."

In other 'WITCH news, Prosthetic has just released a new vinyl edition of the group's latest album, "Forever Abomination," which cracked the Billboard Top 200 last fall and was named one of Decibel's Top 40 albums of 2011. The new "blue marble" version, limited to 250 copies, comes in a triple-gatefold Stoughton jacket and includes a download card just like the sold-out black, blue-green and glow-in-the-dark vinyl variants. Pick it up now at the Prosthetic Store.

OCEANO ANNOUNCES FAREWELL SHOW AT NEW ENGLAND METAL AND HARDCORE FESTIVAL

Chicago deathcore mavens Oceano have chosen 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival as the stage for their farewell performance on Friday, April 20.

In just half a decade, Oceano has transformed the genre with a youthful, modern sound as dark as the ocean depths. Their signature Drop-A tuning adds an ultra-low-end sonic assault and their anger-filled songs and live shows. Oceano lays claim to being "the heaviest, most pissed-off band on the planet."

"We have played some of the best shows of our career at the Palladium," the band said. "Massachusetts has always shown us so much love that we owe them one of our last shows. Let's make one more memory at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival!"

Added promoter Scott Lee: "I'm very sorry to see the band go. They definitely made a mark on the aggressive music scene and we are very excited to have their final show at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival."

The 14th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival is a three-day event, beginning Friday, April 20. The Black Dahlia Murder will headline Friday night, with All That Remains on Saturday, and Killswitch Engage will close out the weekend on Sunday night.

In addition to All That Remains, Saturday's bands include Overkill, iwrestledabearonce, Protest the Hero, Periphery, Bane, Shipwreck, Cruel Hand, Aborted, The Mongoloids, Belphegor, System Divide, Naysayer, The Greenery, Diamond Plate, Rotting Out, Expire, Elitist, Trump The Harlot, Manners, and Malefice.

Sunday's lineup is Killswitch Engage, Every Time I Die, Vanna, For Today, Chelsea Grin, Sleeping Giant, Stick To Your Guns, Attila, On Broken Wings, Mychildren Mybride, For The Fallen Dreams, Texas In July, Upon A Burning Body, Volumes, Like Moths To Flames, Hundredth, No Bragging Rights, Counterparts, and Gideon.

SCALE THE SUMMIT formed in 2005 while attending the Musicians' Institute in Los Angeles. The band relocated to Texas in 2006, where they recorded their first, self-released album. After signing with Prosthetic, they released "Carving Desert Canyons", which Revolver called, "a cinematic blast of intricately melodic fretwork and pummeling percussion," in 2009.

The band, who received praise from Guitar World for their "tightly-woven guitar interplay, irregular time signatures and tasteful licks," has toured with the likes of PROTEST THE HERO, BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, CYNIC, THE DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT and were handpicked by DREAM THEATER to participate in the 2009 installment of their famed "Progressive Nation" festival tour. SCALE THE SUMMIT has also been featured prominently in Guitar Player magazine, and has tracks available for the Rock Band video game through the Rock Band Network.
