Killswitch Engage Summer Tour In Support Of Disarm The Descent
Grammy-nominated, Massachusetts-based hard rockers Killswitch Engage –singer Jesse Leach, guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, bassist Mike D'Antonio, guitarist Joel Stroetzel and drummer Justin Foley- have announced their first headline tour in support of their just-released new album Disarm the Descent, which enjoyed an astounding first week in stores, debuting at #7 on the Billboard Top 200 and at #1 on both the Rock Albums Chart and the Hard Music Chart.
Joining Killswitch Engage on this tour will be their longtime friends from San Diego in As I Lay Dying. Ohio will also be well-represented on this tour, with Miss May I and Affiance rounding out the bill.
Tickets go on sale on April 12 or April 13, depending on the market.
"Everyone in the Killswitch family is excited to get out on our first U.S. headlining tour in support of our new record," Leach said. "We are hitting some great cities and have a great mix of songs from every era of Killswitch as well as of course a handful of new ones."
Leach continued, "We look forward to sharing this tour with our old friends and brothers in metal As I Lay Dying. I personally have never had the chance to tour with them and I am looking forward to having such a quality band out with us to give this tour even more fire! We will also be joined by a talented and up-and-coming band Miss May I and a new band we're all excited to see live called Affiance. Thanks to all the U.S. fans for your support! Our live show will be full-on energy with all of us ready to take this to a whole new level."
Bassist Mike D. concurred, saying, "We are super excited to be back out with our good buds in As I Lay Dying! They are some of our favorite dudes to hang with on the road, so assumptions are high that utter chaos shall ensue. There will be so much metal riffage -- you could build your own Carnival Cruse Ship. That's right, 'CHUGGA CHUGGA Paralysis' is surely imminent."
With that kind of enthusiasm and excitement, you'd be ill-advised to miss this tour!
TOUR DATES:
May 30 Oklahoma City | Diamond Ballroom
May 31 Austin, TX | Stubbs BBQ
June 1 Houston, TX | | House of Blues
June 3 Orlando, FL | House of Blues
June 4 Ft. Lauderdale, FL @ Revolution

DARK TRANQUILLITY to release new album, 'Construct,' in May 2013
The guardians of the Gothenburg sound, DARK TRANQUILLITY, released their first album 20 years ago and are still one of the most exciting bands in melodic death metal. New and old fans will be happy to hear that they are ready to announce their 10th album.
The band comments: "Greetings, Darklings! After having played over 200 shows in every corner of the world in support of the 'We Are The Void' album, it's time to focus inwards and lock ourselves up in the studio. Months and months of hard songwriting work has paid off, and the recording sessions will start early this year. Further details will be announced in due time, but for now we can reveal that the album will be entitled 'Construct' and that we're very excited to have Jens Bogren (PARADISE LOST, OPETH, KATATONIA) taking care of the mix. The release date is set for May 28 in North America."
Fans can expect nothing but greatness with Construct, plus worldwide touring in support of the album in 2013 and beyond. The next chance to see DARK TRANQUILLITY live will be in Dubai, where the band has never played before. Some European summer festival appearances have also been announced, and the band is currently working on a US tour for this upcoming September. Stay tuned for more tour dates coming soon!
DARK TRANQUILLITY live:
12.04.2013 -- Dubai Rock Fest -- Dubai, United Arab Emirates
30.05.2013 -- Beastival Festival -- Geiselwind, Germany
28.06.2013 -- Basinfire Festival -- Spalene Porici, Czech Republic

ABORTED ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM
Belgian death metal veterans ABORTED will begin recording its seventh full length record to date from June onwards at the infamous Hansen Studios with producer Jacob Hansen (Invocator, Hatesphere, Volbeat). The band will be tracking over 15 tracks of the most brutal and intense material they have written to date. The sonic onslaught - baptized as "Global Flatline" - will contain 12 tracks with additional bonus material featured on limited editions.
The artwork for "Global Flatline" will once again be handled by Justin Osbourne who previously worked with the band on its 2010 EP "Coronary Reconstruction" as well. Since 2011 marks the ten year anniversary of ABORTED's "Engineering The Dead" record, the band decided to re-record two tracks of the album as part of the bonus material for "Global Flatline". You can vote for your favorite "Engineering The Dead" songs on the band's Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/Abortedofficial
Vocalist, founder and gurgloroth Sven de Caluwé comments:
"We are thrilled to be finally recording "Global Flatline" and have the material out there. It is exciting in many ways, one being that this might be one of the most important records in ABORTED's career. We really took our time in composing the most heavy and uncompromising material the band has written to date. Some of the material is faster than ever, some of the material is slower than ever, some old school and some new school, inspired by all eras of ABORTED, yet still sounding unique on its own. Writing this record definitely took us back to the roots of why we started playing this kind of music in the first place, the passion and adrenaline you get from playing extreme metal.
Obviously it just isn't a carbon copy of "Goremageddon" or "Engineering The Dead" or anything: there are plenty of new elements as well since we never believe in writing the same record. Those who checked out "Coronary Reconstruction" have had a small taste of what's to come and we can guarantee you won't be disappointed with "Global Flatline"!
We are also very excited to be working again with Jacob Hansen, the man who produced "Goremageddon" and "The Haematobic" EP and it was always a pleasure to work with him then, so this should be a blast."
