ABIGAIL WILLIAMS Complete New Album; Tour With Mayhem Begins Tomorrow

American black metal outfit ABIGAIL WILLIAMS are in the final stages of mixing for their anticipated full-length album right now. The title of the forthcoming opus is now confirmed as Becoming, confirmed by Candlelight Records for release in North America on January 24, 2012, marking ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' third full-length release for the label.

Becoming was recorded in various warehouses throughout Los Angeles with frontman Ken Sorceron handling the mixing, mastering, production and engineering duties for the entire album. The final track listing, album art and more will be unleashed in the weeks ahead as the record nears release.

Following a warm-up headlining gig tonight in Trenton, New Jersey, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will be providing support for Norway's black metal legends Mayhem as their massive thirty-six date North American tour gets underway this Wednesday in Baltimore. Hate and Keep Of Kalessin will both provide support for the entire trek as well, and ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' labelmates Woe will also perform in eight cities of the tour.

Following the tour with Mayhem, ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will continue touring through the new year in support of Becoming, with full stateside tours supporting Dark Funeral and then Deicide already confirmed for the first quarter of 2012, and much more in the planning stages for the months ahead.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS Enter The Studio To Record New Album

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS have begun recording their third full-length album. The process begins in the band’s new home of Southern California as the band enter Keene Machine Studios with The Faceless’ Michael Keene and band frontman Ken Sorceron engineering. Former ABIGAIL WILLIAMS and Black Dahlia Murder drummer Zach Gibson will be playing on the album, as previous band mate Ken Bedene focuses on The Aborted.

“We are very excited to announce the start of drum tracking for our third full-length. Drummer Zach Gibson will be behind the kit on this record, which is exciting for us because we have not recorded with him since the Legend EP,” states Sorceron. Having recently returned from a short ten date regional tour tightening up their new five-piece line-up, the band’s ranks and sound continue to evolve and this third effort is no different. “Expect some interesting twists and turns once again with this album as we plan to double track some of the drums and some of the compositions are quite lengthy, one even reaching the 15-minute plus range. This will prove to be our most epic material to date,” teases Sorceron as to the direction of the new material. “We plan to video our progress and upload video blogs as we go.”

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS will continue recording the new album over the next month, set for completion in late October before embarking on their previously announced North American tour supporting Norway’s legendary Mayhem. The new album has an anticipated January release, followed by additional US tours supporting Dark Funeral and then Deicide.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS September Live Appearances:

9/22/2011 Whisky Richards - Santa Barbara, CA

9/23/2011 House of Blues - West Hollywood, CA w/ Morbid Angel

Stay tuned for more updates on ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' as the record takes shape, and as they hit the road on a massive tour schedule over the next 6 months and onward.

ABIGAIL WILLIAMS' latest album In The Absence Of Light was released in September via Candlelight. Recorded at Conquistador Studios in Cleveland and mixed by Peter Tagtgren (Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Celtic Frost) at Black Lounge Studios in Sweden, the album presents founder/vocalist/guitarist Sorceron with new guitarist Ian Jekelis and drummer Ken Bedene. The album’s eight songs, written exclusively by Sorceron, contain far more urgency then the band’s previous material, cutting down on snyth and keyboards without depleting their crushing atmospheric capabilities, while adding a more brutal, sinister edge to their attack.

"...gothic, Scandinavian-goosed and slickly-produced black metal... Uncle Sam's answer to Dimmu Borgir." - Decibel

"...robust and vicious black metal compositions infused with an abundance of melodicism and harmony - not unlike early Dissection and Dimmu Borgir. 9/10" - Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles

"Whether the band are playing at breakneck speed or reducing to a slower sonic atmospheric soundstage, the band never fails to impress, including some rather excellent melodic guitar breaks. 4.5/5" - Sea of Tranquility

"...a guitar-driven symphonic/melodic black metal attack unlike any other band in North America has ever done before. 90/100" - Infernal Masquerade

"...one of the best black metal albums I've heard in a long time. 93/100" - Metal Reviews

MELECHESH have uploaded the track “Grand Gathas Of Baal Sin” to their Myspace page www.myspace.com/Melechesh. The track comes from the bands highly anticipated new album The Epigenesis.
The Epigenesis was recorded in the newly built first class Babajim Studios in Istanbul, Turkey. The album was mixed by Reuben de Lautour and mastered by Pieter Snapper. In an unprecedented move in metal, the band chose to record the album entirely in Istanbul in an attempt to capture the inspiring surroundings. Babajim Studios is run by some of the most elite sound engineers in Turkey.
The artwork (attached) to their long awaited 5th album was handled by renowned UK based occult artist John Coulthart, whom the band has previously collaborated with before.

The Epigenesis will be released on October 1st in Europe and on October 26th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.
