LAST CHANCE TO REASON PROVIDES 'LEVEL 2' GAME UPDATE

Maine's LAST CHANCE TO REASON, who have spent the last year touring with the likes of Protest The Hero, Obscura and Animals As Leaders, recently returned to the road alongside Dying Fetus, Job For A Cowboy and more. That tour ends March 14 in Arkansas, but the group will then play one final show -- Prosthetic Records' SXSW Showcase in Austin, Texas -- two nights later before heading home.

While on the road, the band has continued to work on the video game companion to 2011's concept album "Level 2," hailed by Revolver as "sick progressive tech-metal." Drummer Evan Sammons checks in with the following update: "What's up, metal nerds? Here's a little update from the LCTR camp. Our tour with Dying Fetus, Job for a Cowboy and Volumes has been kicking some serious ass. Today we begin the second leg with Goatwhore taking over JFAC's spot, and while we hate to see those dudes go, they're going to have a blast in Europe with Cannibal Corpse!

"Coming up on the 16th, we'll be playing the Prosthetic Showcase at SXSW, with our buddies in Scale the Summit. Looking forward to great times with them as always.

"If you've been keeping up with the status of the 'Level 2' videogame, here's a small update: Programming is almost complete for the next episode to be released for 'Coded to Fail' and 'Taking Control.' We just need to get the visuals completely implemented, and we'll get it out there to you guys. We're also looking into crowd-funding options like Kickstarter to speed up that process. We'll post additional updates on our Facebook in the coming weeks."

Produced by Jamie King (BTBAM, The Human Abstract), "Level 2" is a modern take on the classic progressive concept album. Drawing influence from the 70's prog of King Crimson and Yes, composers Steve Reich and Schoenberg as well as prog-metal masters Opeth, Dream Theater and Cynic, the album revolves around the relationship between man and technology, our move from physical reality to virtual spaces and what these changes mean to our lives and our art. The lyrics are expressed from the point of view of an artificial intelligence facing the violent reality of a videogame world.
